Fast App is Northeastern’s performance-based admissions pathway. Instead of submitting a traditional application, learners begin with two approved for-credit pathway courses and earn admission by meeting the required academic standard in those courses and providing proof of a qualifying bachelor’s degree.
Yes. The two Fast App pathway courses are part of the degree curriculum and count toward the full program when completed successfully.
Yes. Learners can enter through the Fast App pathway or apply through Northeastern’s traditional graduate admissions process for direct admission.
No. The program is open to learners with or without a technical background, and optional prep courses are available for students who want additional preparation before or during the pathway courses.
The program is designed to be completed in about 18 months. It includes 8 courses in total, and students should plan for about 10 to 15 hours of study per week for each course.
Total tuition is $24,000, with pay-as-you-go pricing of $3,000 per course across 8 courses. There is no application fee for Fast App, while the traditional graduate application has a $100 fee. Learners who need federal financial aid can apply through the standard admissions route.
Fast App does not require formal English test scores, but students need sufficient English proficiency to complete coursework, exams, and group work in English. Students who apply through the traditional admissions route may need to submit official English proficiency scores. The online program is not F-1 visa eligible.
Online students may attend graduation, request a Husky Card student ID, and visit campus when possible. Many campus resources are also made available in online formats for remote learners.
