About the Course

This course expands upon the knowledge you gained from the React Native course, and will prepare you to make more informed decisions about how you access, store, retrieve and present data within your React Native applications. The course is designed to be completed over five weeks. You will learn about data and databases in a more general sense, and then proceed to become familiar with tools and practices for working with data specifically in React Native. By the end of this course you will be able to: • Explain what REST APIs are and identify best practices for working with them • Make network calls to retrieve online content and handle responses from the server • Create databases and tables and use SQL to store data in them in a structured, relational way • Read and write data for a mobile application using AsyncStorage • Read and write data for a mobile application using SQLite To complete this course, you will need React Native experience. Additionally, it always helps to have a can-do attitude!...

This was indeed a great course! Here we learned how to get external data into react native, and how to handle it with sqlite.

Not a course for a beginner, I literally have to go on youtube to learn and understand. This course was nice, they did their best I think but its was properly explained an explained course especially for a beginner even an intermediate would find it a little tricky

Not very good overall. First, this course assumes the mobile app doesn't require a backend, so it teaches about local storage, including AsyncStorage and SQLite. But reality is that over 95% of market apps have a backend. One thing is that a mobile app can share the same backend as web development. Second is about the structure of this course. The first three modules reuse the video from the Meta Full Stack Developer Specialization and only add new content in the last module. The way he teaches is also problematic: other people teach by actually showing the coding process to us, but he just opens documents and reads to us. Because of that, they really should add a backend course here, not just combine and overall with multiple courses, which feels more confusing. Lastly, it's about not having too many people take this course; usually, you can get the final project graded in a few hours, but this course takes a few days to have the final project graded. If you are taking this course, that's not enough to know about the backend. My recommendation is to enroll in the Meta Full Stack Developer Specialization, where you can actually learn about Django's backend, database system, and APIs separately. This course, however, attempts to combine all three and creates a mess.

Overall, the course was quite beneficial. However, I encountered a challenge in the final assignment where we were required to implement filtering. This proved to be challenging as the course did not provide adequate explanation or guidance on how to approach filtering tasks.
